Having 20x the buy-in is very comfortable, and IMO a little overkill for the first 4-5 tours. I'm at T8 and have paid 50K+ for some upgrades. Adding the left curl negates this.Īlso with the upgrade costs, the clubs from lower tours are cheaper to upgrade than the ones from higher tours. That means by the time the ball lands it will be angled something like 5-10 degrees to the right from where you lined up the shot. So basically if you have a shot all lined up with a 0 degree straight line but you have a 5MPH left to right wind, the ball will change its angle slightly in mid air. Spin affects trajectory of the ball after making first contact with the ground. Curl affects trajectory of the ball in the air. I'm not sure how it applies to really low winds though (<2 MPH) since it's been a while since I've played on those tours. Not as far as I know, I think it's fairly consistent.Making sure you're completely set for the next tour starts to be really important in T5+. T1 through T3 though you can probably be more reckless with. It also helps to memorize the right ways to play each hole and tie breaker which will be very useful in tournaments. It's always a good idea to max out the course like I described.Keep in mind this won't negate the left/right movement of the ball, just the curl in the air. If you have strong side wind, add a half ball or so of curl in the opposite direction if you want to cancel out the curl effect the wind has on the ball. When you have a head wind it's the opposite - add 1 more bar of top spin than normal. The ball will roll further than the guide line indicates. When you have a tail wind, add 1 more bar of backspin than normal. Not too important when all the winds are 4MPH or less, but will come in handy in later tours and will be the difference between winning tournies and finishing 50th. The general rule of thumb is to wait until you have 20x the minimum buy in before moving up, but I'd also make sure your clubs are in line with what you'll be going up against and that you are winning 67%+ of your games on the previous tour. You will then be back on earlier tours but because you have lots of trophies from later tours, you will have difficulty on the tours you were previously winning with ease. As you gain trophies you will play against harder and harder players, meaning you will eventually plateau and hit a losing streak and lose your coins. This one is key - DON'T MOVE UP TOO FAST.The clubs guide on golfclashnotebook.io has some good info on which ones you should bother upgrading. So yeah, only upgrade the ones you're using or the inexpensive ones to start. You'll have plenty of cash to upgrade clubs when you're grinding T6/T7 for easy wins.Played in 2 tournies so far with 8th place and 1st place finish respectively.
